Commissions
Welcome and thank you for your interest in commissioning fine art. A commissioned piece of art is a mutual conversation. We enjoy this dialogue with the collector. You can share your request and ideas. Your artist can share what we can do in response to your request.
Naturally as artists we work in our style. We paint with acrylic on canvas. (Dr Bowers works in oil are experimental studies at this stage). We can create a commissioned work of art for you from our existing styles.
Take a look at what we do, and choose what style you would like. A commission means that you shift to the front of the line in our studio practice.
We work with a win-win model. We want you to be happy with the results and to love the work. If you do not love the work for any reason, outside of the administrative fee from your down payment we will refund the rest and you do not have to buy. We will sell the work with someone else in future. As we say in Australia, no worries mate.
Terms for Commissions
- Accepting a commission is 100% at the discretion of the artist.
 - Timeframes for commissions place you at the top of the line in our schedule. However, our other professional and personal commitments, and commissions that came before you, may delay beginning your project. Please be patient - we will do what is possible and be up front about our schedule.
 - When we receive your request we will be in touch to clarify whatever needs to be discussed, and we will let you know our schedule and projected start date.
 - The completion date may need clarification depending on your request and its details. Some paintings can take longer than others. Getting into the zone of artistic creativity for your project may or may not take more time. Research or other work to complete your project may also influence the process.
 - We are transparent about the process, and give you clear feedback and advice.
 - Commissions must be a win-win for both the artist and the collector. We offer a full refund less 10% of the down payment if the collector decides they do not like the finished work and they refuse the work to be shipped.
 - The collector will have 7 seven calendar days to make this decision from the date of notification of completion when they view the work via video or from pictures, as agreed.
 - Once the work is paid and shipped, the work is final and refunds apply for a commissioned work except under insurance claims during shipping door to door. See our shipping policy.
 - Naturally, for much larger projects more details will be worked out to satisfy the parties.
 - A down payment of 40% of the total price is due on signing a Service Agreement.
 - The final payment of 60% is due on completion of the work prior to shipping, with a 7 seven calendar day grace period for the collector to make their decision on the final purchase.
 - Where the collector decides not to finish the purchase, we part on good terms and we will sell the work in future to someone else.

Next Steps
As we want you to be fully informed, here are the steps involved.
- Once you send us the commission request we will review this. Dr Jorandi and Dr Dwayne will sit and discuss over a cuppa. One of us will get in touch with you.
 - If the artist agrees the next step will be a meeting with you to clarify the project.
 - From that meeting a draft Agreement will be created for you to consider and to sign. We will send the agreement via email.
 - Once signed, you will have 7 seven calendar days to pay the down payment. You can withdraw at any time during this 7 seven days.
 - We will be in touch when we begin the work, and during the creative process, to keep you informed.
 - At completion we will supply photographs and invite a zoom or video call.
 - From the date of sending pictures to you (if that is all you can do) or from the date of your video meeting, you will have 7 seven calendar days to finalise your payment and then we will prepare for shipping.
 - We hope you will send us photos of the work in your hands and on your wall and to share your adventure with us. You are now part of our family - and we hope you stay in touch.
